What We Collect

When you use Schnoz, we collect the information you provide directly: your name, email address, pet photos, pet descriptions, and location data associated with lost or found pet reports. We also collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, and device information to improve the service.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to operate the pet recovery system: matching lost pets with found reports, sending community alerts, displaying reports on the map, and notifying you of potential matches. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Location Data

Location data is essential to the recovery system. When you report a lost or found pet, the location is used to alert nearby community members and display the report on the sightings map. You control when and how location data is shared through the report forms.

Pet Photos and AI Processing

Photos you upload are processed by our AI system to detect breed, color, markings, and other visual features. This data is used exclusively for matching purposes within the Schnoz platform. Photos are stored securely and are only visible to other users in the context of active reports.

Data Retention

Active reports remain visible until you close them or mark the pet as found. Closed reports are retained for 90 days to support the matching system, then permanently deleted. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services for payment processing (Stripe), mapping (Google Maps), and analytics. These services have their own privacy policies. We share only the minimum data necessary for these services to function.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your profile information at any time through your account settings. For data deletion requests or questions about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
